Arrest Made - Two Related Hit & Run Cases

UPDATE:  Friday, September 8, 2017 3:55 p.m.

Through the investigation, detectives were able to identify the subject believed to be responsible for these two incidents.

Arrested:  Montcler Paris Armonti, 47, of the 2400 block of Virginia Beach Boulevard.  He has been charged with Felonious Assault and Hit & Run – Personal Injury.  He is being held in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.

Additional charges are anticipated.   Arrest photo will be provided once it becomes available.

On Friday, September 8, 2017, at approximately 8:51 a.m., E911 received a report of an accident pedestrian at 2636 Dean Drive, Art Walker Auto Service.  It was reported that a vehicle was stolen and the operator struck two employees in the parking lot, the vehicle fled the scene.  Two victims were transported to a local hospital.  One with serious injuries, the other with minor injuries.

At approximately 8:59 a.m., E911 received a report of a vehicle crash in the 3500 block of Hilber Street.  The citizen reported that the vehicle crashed into the curb then came to rest diagonally in the road.  The driver fled on foot.  It is believed that this vehicle is related to the hit and run with injuries reported on Dean Drive.

Detectives determined that the suspect left the neighborhood after being picked up by a passerby.  

This case remains under investigation by members of the Detective Bureau.
