DUI Arrest in the 900 block of Norfolk Ave

​At 9:20 p.m. on September 4th officers received a report of a possible intoxicated driver in the 900 block of Norfolk Ave.  An officer stopped a green Chevy Tahoe driven by 38-year-old Theodore Stephen Schlossman.  The officer attempted to place Mr. Schlossman under arrest for DUI when Mr. Schlossman began to resist and released his dog from the vehicle.  The dog became aggressive toward the officer and the officer was forced to discharge his firearm shooting and killing the dog.   Mr. Schlossman has been charged with driving under the influence, refusal to submit to breath analysis, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice, possession of a schedule II narcotic, possession of marijuana, and threatening the life of a law enforcement officer.  This case remains under investigation by the department's Professional Standards Office with Lieutenant​ A. Speiss assigned as the lead investigator.  No further information is available at this time.
