Roadway Improvements for General Booth Blvd to Begin Sunday

Friday, July 28, 2017

Virginia Beach Public Works has announced that crews will begin roadway improvements on General Booth Boulevard beginning Sunday, July 30, 2017.

The project will include milling, paving and pavement marking work on both the north bound and south bound lanes of General Booth Boulevard from Teach Lane to Princess Anne Road.

Crews will be working at night from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.  Any paving and marking work that needs to be done during the weekday hours will be from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.  Any weekend work – if needed – will be scheduled between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The project and the milling and paving operation is likely to produce traffic delays, congestion and some construction noise.  Advanced warning signs will be clearly posted advising motorists of lane closures.

Citizens are urged to use alternate traffic routes when possible.

All scheduled work is weather permitting.
