On July 12, 2017 at approximately 1:25 a.m., a citizen reported to Emergency Communications and Citizen Services that they were notified via their boat's GPS that it had been removed from its dock slip.  The citizen responded to the dock location, 600 Laskin Road, Bay Venture Boat Rentals, to find that the boat was in fact missing.  The complainant continued to follow the boat's location via GPS while providing the location updates to the responding officers.  Uniform officers, with the assistance of the department's Aviation Unit as well as K9 Unit, located and arrested the suspect without incident.
