Sandler Center Art Gallery hosts “Art, Live Out Loud” Through Sept. 2, 2017

Wednesday, July 05, 2017

The Sandler Center for the Performing Arts is proud to announce that it will host an exhibition of selected works from artists of the Virginia Beach School of Art & Gallery from July 3 through Sept. 2, 2017.

This exhibition comprises the work of local art artists attending the Virginia Beach School of Art & Gallery. The school follows the French "Atelier" method of instruction, which includes the study of the Great Masters and their styles, unique perception of subjects, techniques, composition, and how to make "Art, Live Out Loud."

The Virginia Beach School of Art & Gallery enriches the community of artists and the cultural scene in Virginia Beach by offering everyone the opportunity to discover their own skills and talents to create, design, understand, appreciate and develop their unique pathway to creativity. Artists choose their subjects and learn to draw and paint at the same time on the canvas, bringing to life in-depth true expression.

The exhibit will be on view in the second and third floor lobbies from through Sept. 2 during the Sandler Center's normal operating hours: Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., or during any performance at the Sandler Center.

There will be a free artist reception held at the Sandler Center on Aug. 3, from 6–8 p.m.  The Art Gallery is on the second and third floors in the common areas of the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts.

The role of the Office of Cultural Affairs is to develop the vision and direction of the cultural arts in Virginia Beach, assist and direct the Virginia Beach Arts and Humanities Commission, coordinate the city's Public Art Program, provide contract management for the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, serve as the liaison with Virginia MOCA and the ViBe Creative District, and serve as a resource to local arts and humanities organizations.
