City of Virginia Beach Announces Emergency Road Closing Due to Storm Damage and Repairs

​Due to storm damage in the southern end of Virginia Beach that has taken down a power pole, the City of Virginia Beach is closing Princess Anne Road at Gum Bridge Road this afternoon between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. for emergency repairs.  

Dominion Virginia Power crews are in the process of removing the damaged pole, installing a new one, and reconnecting power.   

The detour route will begin at Princess Anne Road at Gum Bridge Road, and will go to Charity Neck Road to Nanny's Creek Road to Mill Landing Road and back To Princess Anne Road.   The closure and detour are expected to be in place until sometime after 8 p.m. this evening. 

Police officers are at the intersection, and detour signs are in place.   

Drivers should expect delays.
