Archery Demo Day 
(Feb 4 | 1 to 3 pm | ages 6 & up - 6 to 16 must have a parent or guardian present | Bayside Rec Center)
Ever wonder if you could shoot a bow and arrow and actually hit the target? Come give it a try! All equipment is provided and no experience is needed; our skilled instructors will show you exactly what to do. For information, email outdoors@vbgov.com or call 385-2990.​

Forever Young Valentine's Day Dance
(Feb 8 | 10 am to 1 pm | ages 55 & up| Bayside Rec Center | $8)

Feel the flush in your cheeks at our annual Valentine's Day celebration with music and dancing, good food, lovely prizes, and the ultimate Forever Young king and queen contest. Register today!

Daddy Daughter Dance
(Feb 10 | 6 to 8 pm | ages 3 & up | Great Neck Rec Center | $10)
Fathers and daughters will create lasting memories together at this fun Valentine's themed event. There will be light snacks, a Valentine craft, and of course - dancing! Register by February 3.

Valentine's Day Cookies
(Feb 13 | 6 to 7 pm | ages 5 to 10 | Princess Anne Rec Center | $9)
Get into the Valentine's Day spirit by baking and decorating your own cookies. Keep them or give them as a treat for someone special! Register by February 6.

Racquetball Tournament
(Feb 18 | 9 am to 5 pm | ages 18 & up | Bayside Rec Center | $25)
Grab a racquet and join us for round robin play followed by a single elimination tournament. Three divisions will be offered: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Register by February 10.

Family Nite Hike
(Feb 24 | 8 to 9 pm | ages 5 & up | Stumpy Lake Natural Area)
Bring your family and a flashlight to explore the park in the dark with us. Hear the sounds of the evening wildlife under the stars on this guided adventure. *Free event; no membership needed, but pre-registration is required. For information, email Outdoors@VBgov.com or call 757-385-4461.

Water Polo Clinics
(Various dates & times in Feb | ages 10 to 18 | $16)
Do you like basketball, soccer and swimming? Then try water polo! These clinics will introduce you to the basic skills of this physically challenging and exciting sport. This is the perfect jumping off point to get involved in our water polo league, so check it out! Register now for your preferred date and location.

Spring Coed Adult Sand Football
What better way to spend a Sunday morning than down on the beach with your best pals playing a blood-pumping game of sand football? Register now through February 12 for our spring adult league for ages 18 and up. In this non-contact league we offer two levels of competition – beginner/intermediate and advanced. Games are played in two 40-minutes haves, 6 on 6 with a minimum of two females on the field during play.

Youth Girls Softball
Girl power! Register your child February 11 or 18 at various locations throughout the city (online registration may also be available for most Recreation Associations). Practice starts: March 15 for the season which runs from mid-April to late June.

Adult Spring Softball
Batter up! Register your team online February 13 to March 5 for our spring season. Participants must be at least18 years old. Individuals who are looking to join a team can contact the City-Wide Athletics Office at 757-385-0458 for more information (placement is not guaranteed.) Divisions offered include men's, women's, men's church, coed, coed church, and coed public service (government). The season runs from April through July.

Looking for a job? Come meet our recruiters! We will be answering questions about all of our available part time positions such including personal trainers, after school programs, summer and youth  camps, clerical and front desk staff, park staff positions, groundskeepers, fitness instructors, lifeguards, aquatic instructors and special needs program assistants.
