Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation is proud to officially celebrate the grand opening of the new Pungo Ferry Landing Park. The site is formerly home to the old Captain George's restaurant, and sits on a 20 -acre park located on the North Landing River, a major leg of the Intercoastal Waterway. The land was purchased in 2015 through the city's Open Space Program which designates funding for the acquisition and development of properties for recreational use. The park features a boat ramp, fishing area, canoe/kayak soft launch, boat trailer parking, and a small picnic area. City officials will gather to recognize this incredible new addition to the Virginia Beach park system that provides a wonderful opportunity for water access and recreation for those in the southern end of the City.
