As November and the winter season draws near, Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation is gearing up for the cooler weather and shorter days with a host of events and special activities for the adventurous family or individual! Santa's Stocking Old Fashioned Craft Bazaar
(Nov 5 & 6 at Princess Anne Rec Center; Nov 19 & 20 at Williams Farm Rec Center | Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm, and Sundays 10 am to 4 pm)
An annual holiday tradition, this event features over 100 different craft vendors each weekend. Crafters will be selling unique handmade items, everything from stocking stuffers to fine works of art, all at budget-friendly prices. 

Bring the kids for photos with Santa...the first opportunity in Virginia Beach! Santa's hours are Saturday 11 am to 2 pm, Sunday 1 pm - 4 pm. Visits the big man are free, prices vary for professional photos (no personal cameras please.)

We're also offering a FREE Drop n' Shop option for parents with kids ages 3 to 6 for up to one hour between 11 am and 3 pm each day. Your child will enjoy doing crafts and playing games while you check out all the vendor's goodies!

Float-a-Rama
(Nov 6 | 10 am to 1 pm | all ages | Great Neck Rec Center)
It might be too cool outside to swim, but the water is just right in our indoor swimming pools! Bring the kids in to burn off some energy splashing and climbing on our giant floats. It's a wet and wild blast! No registration required.

Winter Wildlife Festival – Registration

Reserve your spot! Presented by Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation and the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, this is your chance to witness winter wildlife all around Virginia Beach; whether it's following fascinating bird activity, exploring the natural areas of our community or the musings of harbor seals near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Learn what it takes to properly observe and identify wildlife in their natural settings. With loads of adventures to sign up for, the most popular ones fill very quickly, so be sure to register early. Recreation center membership is not required to participate.

We're hiring Activity Center Assistant Leaders for our Out-of-School Time Programs and will be conducting on-the-spot interviews for qualified candidates on a first come, first served basis. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, with a minimum of 3 months programming volunteer or work experience with youth. Interested candidates should fill out the online application at VBgovcareers.com, print it and bring it along with a resume and two reference contacts. Enjoy a night of family fun with our monthly movie series that also includes games, crafts, and of course – popcorn! We're featuring The Jungle Book this month, so swing on in with your little wild ones. Please register in advance.
