Sandler Center Art Gallery Hosts “It’s a Shore Thing” by Richard Stravitz and Constance Fahey Starting Oct. 18

Tuesday, October 11, 2016

The Sandler Center Art Gallery is honored to announce that it will host Richard Stravitz and Constance Fahey's exhibit, "It's a Shore Thing," beginning Oct. 18.

Constance Fahey has a working studio in the Artists Gallery on Norfolk Avenue in Virginia Beach. She has lived her life by the sea and its many shores and has traveled extensively. The energy, passion and ever-changing beauty of the ocean inspires her seascapes. Her love of the sea, preservation of the sand dunes, marine life and their fragile environment is evident in many of her paintings.

Richard Stravitz Fine Art Galleries are located in Virginia Beach. With a most impressive array of sculptures, paintings, jewelry, glass and more, they house the largest collection of fine art in the area. Stravitz creates his bronze sculptures using the Lost Wax Process. He is known for his attention to detail and demonstrates the unique talent of portraying motion and emotion in a stationary object.

Stravitz and Fahey's exhibit will be on view in the second and third floor lobbies from Oct. 18 through Dec. 10 during normal operating hours: Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., or during any performance at the Sandler Center.

There will be a free artist reception held at the Sandler Center on Oct. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. Join us for this special opportunity to celebrate the work of these two talented artists.  The reception is made possible by a generous gift from Tom and Juanita Felton to the Sandler Center Foundation.
