Fall is in full swing and it’s time to gather the ghouls and goblins for some fun! Hunt for treats or treasures, explore the wild in the dark, or come make a creepy craft with Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation in October.

Archery Demo Day (Oct 1 | 1 to 3 pm | ages 6 & up - 6 to 16 must have a parent or guardian present | Bayside Rec Center)
Ever wonder if you could shoot a bow and arrow and actually hit the target? Come out and give it a try! All equipment is provided and no experience is needed; our skilled instructors will show you exactly what to do. For information, email or call 757-385-2990.

Treasures at the Farm  (Oct 8 | 9 am to 2 pm | Williams Farm Park)
Head over to Williams Farm Park for an old-fashioned community yard sale! No need to navigate through neighborhood roads hunting for a good deal. Find your low-cost treasures all in one spot. Plenty of free parking and no admission fee for shoppers.

The Great Halloween Hunt (Oct 29 | 11 am to 1 pm | Bayville Farms Park)
Come dressed in your Halloween best to one of our signature parks for a howling good time! There will be face painting, crafts, and lots of treats for all ages to enjoy. Rain location will be at Bayside Recreation Center. RSVP on Facebook.

Forever Young Citywide Hawaiian Luau (Oct 19 | 10 am to 1 pm | ages 55 & up | Williams Farm Rec Center | $8)
Hula over to Williams Farm for a tropical getaway and have a fantastic time with other mature adults at our annual luau event. There will be delicious food and a variety of activities for all to enjoy. Register today!

Movie Night in the Pool: Frankenweenie (Oct 21 | 6 to 8 pm | Williams Farm Rec Center)
Jump in and get floating for an animated Halloween feature! No registration required.

Family Nite Hike (Oct 21 | 8 to 9 pm | ages 5 & up | Stumpy Lake Natural Area)
Bring your family and a flashlight to explore the park in the dark with us. Hear the sounds of the evening wildlife under the stars on this guided adventure. *Free event; no membership needed, but pre-registration is required. For information, email or call 757-385-4461.

Spooktacular Pumpkin Decorating (Oct 27 | 5:30 to 7 pm | ages 5 to 12 | Princess Anne Rec Center | $6)
Bring your decorating skills and creativity to design the spookiest pumpkin. All supplies will be provided. Be sure to register!

Ghouls Gathering (Oct 29 | 12 to 3 pm | ages 3 & up | Great Neck Rec Center)
Gear up for a day of tricks and treats with face painting and creepy crafts for the family. Registering now!

Swish! It’s time to sign the kids up for winter hoops. Registration will take place October 29 and November 5. Games will be played January through March 2017.
