From their earliest shows as a garage band playing the punk clubs of Miami Beach, The Mavericks have had a skill for getting people to groove. They will bring their unique style of music to the Sandler Center on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 8 p.m.

Drawing on a mix of classic country, cow-punk and standards, The Mavericks have made a career of bringing their rhythmic fervor to audiences throughout the world.

The Mavericks became one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful groups of the early '90s. By 1994, their album "What A Crying Shame" went platinum and a string of hits followed, including "All You Do Is Bring Me Down," "There Goes My Heart" and "Here Comes The Rain." The band also gained a reputation of hosting amazing live performances as they toured the world. "One of the things we love about our shows is we get all walks of life, all ages, all colors, all politics, all genders and all religions," frontman Malo said.

In 2013, after numerous years as a band, multiple gold and platinum albums, world tours, breakups and reformations, The Mavericks recorded their critically-acclaimed album "In Time" and re-introduced music lovers to the band's genre-defying melting pot of pop music. In 2015, with the release of their most recent album "MONO", The Mavericks find themselves making the most relevant music of their career.

Tickets go on sale Sept. 16 at 10 a.m.
