Central Library Hosts Local Artists Exhibit, “Images of Hampton Roads”

Tuesday, September 06, 2016

A local artists exhibit, "Images of Hampton Roads," is on display at Virginia Beach's Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library, 4100 Virginia Beach Blvd, through the end of September. The exhibit showcases paintings, drawings, photographs and other two-dimensional artwork featuring people, places and distinctive aspects of southeastern Virginia. A reception with the artists will be held Thursday, Sept. 8, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the Central Library. The reception is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Artwork for the "Images of Hampton Roads" exhibit was selected through a juried process, based on artistic merit and relevance to the Hampton Roads theme. More than 160 pieces were submitted for consideration following a call for entries in June.
