Virginia Beach Public Works to Begin Roadway Improvements Project on Monday the 18th

Monday, July 18, 2016

Virginia Beach Public Works has announced that roadway improvements will begin on Indian Creek Road beginning Monday, July 18, 2016. The affected portion will be from the intersection of Indian Creek Road and Blackwater Road to the Chesapeake City limits line.

The project will include reconstruction, milling and patching pavement failures prior to the final overlay, along with the final marking operation.

The project is expected to run from Monday the 18th through Saturday, July 23.  Daytime work hours will be from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day.  There will be a flagging operation in place to help direct traffic.

The project and the milling and paving operation is likely to produce traffic delays, congestion and some construction noise.  Advanced warning signs will be clearly posted advising motorists of lane closures.

Citizens are urged to use alternate traffic routes when possible.

All scheduled work is weather permitting.
