Virginia Beach Commission to Hold Public Hearings on “Event Houses”

​At the direction of the Virginia Beach City Council, the City’s Beaches and Waterways Advisory Commission will be holding a series of public meetings to get public input on the issue of “Event Houses.” This involved the use of rental homes in residential areas for the purpose of holding social events and functions with large crowds attending.   The commission’s goal is to gather public feedback on the issue and provide recommendations for regulation to the City Council.

The Beaches and Waterways Commission will hold five public hearings to solicit public on input before making their recommendations to Virginia Beach City Council.  The meetings will be held as follows:

July 18, 2016       Virginia Aquarium Owls Creek Marsh Pavilion                   6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

July 19, 2016       Wyndham Virginia Beach Oceanfront York Room             6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

July 20, 2016       Virginia Beach Resort and Conference Center Sunset    6 p.m. – 8 p.m. 

July 21, 2016       Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library Auditorium                6 p.m. – 8 p.m. 

​July 22, 2016       Sandbridge United Methodist Church                                  7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
