Mount Trashmore Summer Carnival to Begin Friday, June 3

City prepared to deliver family fun with safety in mind

Wednesday, June 01, 2016

The annual Mount Trashmore Summer Carnival is set to begin Friday, June 3, and Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation is excited to once again bring back this local’s favorite event. Parks & Rec has worked closely with the Virginia Beach Police Department, Sheriff’s Office, and carnival operators to prepare for this year’s event and ensure that those who attend have a safe and enjoyable experience.

“We hear from families all over the area that they truly look forward to coming out to the carnival each year,” said Rick Rowe, Parks and Natural Areas Coordinator for Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation. “Providing events that are affordable and accessible to all citizens is a key part of our department’s priorities.”

This year’s carnival will keep in place the security measures implemented last year including fencing around the carnival area, increased staff presence throughout the run of the event, and increased number of light towers in the area.

The carnival will run June 3 to 21, offering rides, games, and delicious fair foods. Located in the parking lot off of Edwin Drive, the carnival is wonderful for all ages and offers free admission and free parking. For hours, ride information, and prices, visit VBgov.com/carnival.
