Don't Miss the Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge May 20 & 21 at Mount Trashmore Park

“The Toughest Two Minutes in Sports” Returns to Virginia Beach

Wednesday, May 18, 2016

Mount Trashmore Park will be the site of the Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge on Friday, May 20th and Saturday, May 21st, 2016, sponsored by the City of Virginia Beach, the Virginia Beach Fire Department, and Stihl, Inc

Referred to as "The Toughest Two Minutes in Sports," – and broadcast in the past on ESPN - firefighters from across Hampton Roads, the U. S., Canada, (even Kuwait in 2015) and other parts of the world will be sending their fastest and strongest members to Virginia Beach to compete.

Wearing "full bunker gear" competitors race head to head and against the clock up a five story tower carrying a heavy fire hose on their shoulder, pull a charged hose line more than half the length of the course, drag a life-sized 175 pound victim and complete other challenges as they simulate the real, physical demands of firefighting.

The Virginia Beach contest is one of the qualifying events leading up to the World Finals held in Montgomery, Alabama in October.
