Tunnel Visions: Library Hosts Talk with John Warren, Author of “Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel” Pictorial

Wednesday, March 23, 2016

Author and former “Virginian-Pilot” Road Warrior transportation columnist John Warren will talk about his book, “Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel,” on Saturday, March 26, 2 to 4 p.m., at Virginia Beach’s Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library, 4100 Virginia Beach Blvd. Jeffrey B. Holland, executive director of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, will also be in attendance, speaking about the second tube being added to the tunnel.

This largely pictorial book, an installment in Arcadia Publishing's “Images of America” series, was published in 2015, coinciding with the bridge-tunnel’s 50th anniversary. The book chronicles the history of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, called a "marvel of the modern world" at its opening. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.

The event is free and open to the public. For additional details, call (757) 385-0150 or visit www.VBgov.com/library-events.
