Haulotte North America Opens Corporate Headquarters in Virginia Beach

Tuesday, March 22, 2016

Haulotte North America celebrates its North American headquarters on March 23, 2016. Virginia Beach Mayor William D. Sessoms, Jr. will join the leaders of Haulotte Group from France along with major clients and partners from around the world for the official grand opening ceremony.

The company is a subsidiary of Haulotte Group based in L’Horme, France, the third-largest worldwide manufacturer of aerial work platforms such as scissor lifts and boom lifts. The new office is a relocation of its existing North America headquarters from Frederick, Md.

With the relocation of the facility, Haulotte Group has created 44 jobs in Virginia Beach.

The 83,000-square-foot facility at 3409 Chandler Creek Road supports the company’s executive offices, customer sales and service support, training center, and distribution functions of spare parts and finished goods. Additionally, the customer care center will oversee parts fulfillment, warehousing, pre-delivery inspections and repairs.

Aerial work platforms made by Haulotte Group in manufacturing facilities in Ohio, China, France and Romania will be distributed throughout North America through the new Virginia Beach headquarters.

Haulotte Group’s product portfolio includes articulating and telescopic booms, electric and rough terrain scissor lifts, towable and light-weight self-propelled booms, vertical masts and telehandlers.

“We’ve been anticipating this opening and adding another international business to our local business community,” said Warren D. Harris, director of Virginia Beach Economic Development. “We have an incredible opportunity to increase awareness about the benefits of Virginia Beach through Haulotte’s global client base.”

“Our aerial lifts and telehandler products now have a brand new, state-of-the-art facility that our customers can depend on to take care of their equipment needs,” says Claude Fuger, managing director of Haulotte North America. “We are now better positioned to deliver outstanding products and provide the required sales and service support, along with the quality training that this facility was designed for. Our Virginia Beach facility now features the space and resources we had been looking for to maintain a competitive edge and to further demonstrate Haulotte Group’s long-term commitment to North America.”

Haulotte North America will continue to operate a 300,000-square-foot aerial work platform manufacturing and assembly plant in Archbold, Ohio, which also manufacturers scaffold and event equipment.

The Virginia Beach Department of Economic Development worked with the Hampton Roads Economic Development Alliance, Virginia Economic Development Partnership and the local office of CB Richard Ellis on this corporate headquarters relocation assignment.
