Due to Impending Inclement Weather

​As of this writing (10:30 a.m.), most City of Virginia Beach services are running as normal. The one exception: Because Virginia Beach City Public Schools is closing three hours early today; all Parks and Recreation afterschool programs are cancelled today, too.

Should conditions warrant changes, we will immediately update our Facebook and Twitter feeds, post information on vbgov.com and send out a news release.

E-Cycling Event Postponed Until Saturday, Jan. 30

Due to expected inclement weather, tomorrow’s E-Cycling event has been postoned and rescheduled for Saturday, Jan. 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the East Parking Lot. 717 General Booth Blvd.

Saturday Wings Over America Concert Postponed One Week

Due to inclement weather in the performer’s route, Wings Over America College Concert Series at the Sandler Center, scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m., has been postponed. The show will be rescheduled for Saturday, Jan. 30.

Reminder: Sledding Not Allowed at Mount Trashmore Park

Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation wishes to remind the public that sledding is prohibited at Mount Trashmore Park due to concerns for public safety. In the event of an accumulating snowfall, the park will be closed to all visitors. In the interest of citizen safety, city staff from the Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation and the Police Department will enforce the no sledding policy and closure of the park.
