Friday, January 22, 2016

Virginia Beach Public Library is hosting an after-hours evening of live jazz and open mic poetry, with a wine-tasting by Mermaid Winery, on Friday, Feb. 12, at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library, 4100 Virginia Beach Blvd., from 6:30 to 10 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, ages 18 and up, and the wine-tasting is for ages 21 and up. Participants must register online and may reserve a spot to present their poetry at http://www.tinyurl.com/CoolNightsHotJazz.

The goal of the event is to provide community members with free access to cultural enrichment and entertainment, and the chance to learn something new in a friendly, fun environment. It also highlights the breadth of programs and resources that the library has for the community.

The event is funded by a grant from the Friends of the Virginia Beach Public Library.
