Celebrate America Recycles Day at the TCC/City Joint-Use Library Nov. 12

Thursday, October 29, 2015

The Virginia Beach Recycle Team will welcome students and residents at an educational America Recycles Day celebration. The event will be held at the TCC/City Joint-Use Library, Michael Labouve Dr. off of South Rosemont Road, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12. The City is partnering with TCC’s Student Activities Office to educate event attendees about sustainable living choices especially recycling. Although this is not a drop-off event, residents are always welcome to bring their recycling and electronics to the City’s Landfill and Resource Recovery Center; for facility details, visit www.VBgov.com/landfill.

TCC students and the public as a whole will have the opportunity to speak face-to-face with Virginia Beach recycling specialists who can answer their questions about sustainable living practices like recycling and donation. Attendees can enjoy refreshments donated by the TCC Student Activities Office.

America Recycles Day supports the local, regional and national efforts to educate citizens on the benefits of recycling including minimizing waste, saving natural resources, promoting environmental sustainability, recognizing the value of products and saving money.
