City of Virginia Beach Holiday Schedule

Veterans Day Observed, Wednesday, November 11

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – October 28, 2015 – In observance of Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, the following Virginia Beach facilities will be closed, however, there will be regular trash and recycling collection services on Wednesday, November 11: 

    • All City of Virginia Beach offices
    • All Virginia Beach community recreation centers
    • All Virginia Beach public libraries will be closed, however the Joint Use Library, located at 1700 College Crescent, will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
    • All Virginia Beach city public schools and administration offices
    • Chesapeake Bay Center at First Landing State Park
    • Francis Land House, Lynnhaven House, Adam Thoroughgood House and PACTS/Union Kempsville High School Museum
    • Owl Creek Tennis Center
    • Princess Anne Athletic Complex
    • The Virginia Beach Circuit Court, General District Court, Juvenile & Domestic Relations Courts and Clerk’s Offices
    • The Virginia Beach Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney
    • Virginia Beach Convention Center administrative offices
    • Virginia Beach Landfill and Resource Recovery Center
    • Virginia Beach Public Health Department
    • Visitor Center on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel
    • Visitor Information Center – 2100 Parks Ave. 

The following facilities are OPEN to the public, Wednesday, November 11, during the following hours:

    • All Virginia Beach city parks and park facilities – 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • Joint Use Library, located at 1700 College Crescent – 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
    • Sandler Center for the Performing Arts administrative offices – 9 a.m. and box office – 10 a.m.
    • Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Virginia Beach Farmers Market Office closed – Market Vendors open: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
