Park Scheduled for Improvements

Woodstock Cove Neighborhood Park to be closed for approximately six months beginning Oct 30 for bank stabilization

Thursday, October 22, 2015

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Protecting our environment is always a concern for Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation. Woodstock Cove Neighborhood Park, located at 609 Woodstock Road, will be closed to undergo a significant improvement project beginning October 30 for approximately six months. During this time, crews will be reconstructing the bank along the multi-use trail leading to the park. The bank has become severely eroded and threatens the integrity of the trail. Included in this reconstruction will be the removal of the large trees and shrubs. To create the proper stability, the new slope will be planted with only grasses.  Since the project requires the removal of many mature trees from the bank, the project will include planting new trees in the interior of the park next spring.

To locate an alternative neighborhood park during this closure, please visit or download the free VB ParkFinder app from your mobile device’s app store.
