Age is Just a Number – We Were BORN TO MOVE!

Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation first to launch fitness program for kids ages 3 to 5

Thursday, September 10, 2015

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Healthy habits can begin at an early age, and Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation is proud to be the first recreation department in the country to offer a new program to help kick-start those behaviors in youth ages 3 to 5. Les Mills’ BORN TO MOVE™ is a fitness program designed specifically for kids with the purpose of fostering positive attitudes towards physical activity that will last a lifetime.

Each 45-minute Born to Move class features upbeat music that kids love, while our highly trained instructors engage them in learning and exploring how their bodies can move to build confidence and develop skills. Balance, coordination, and concentration skills are developed all while the kids are having a fantastic time dancing to the beat. Your child will be so busy laughing and bopping around with their friends that they won’t even realize they’re exercising as well!

Classes begin this month at Williams Farm, Bow Creek, and Princess Anne Recreation Centers. For session information, class times, and registration, visit www.VBgov.com/BornToMove. Let’s get our kids moving!
