Red, White and Ka-boom! Celebrate Independence Day at Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation’s Annual July 4th Celebration!

(Virginia Beach, VA) – Salute “Old Glory” and celebrate our nation’s independence at Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation’s Annual July 4th Celebration at Mount Trashmore Park (310 Edwin Drive). This evening of family fun is free and open to the public and will take place Saturday, July 4, from 4 to 10 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9:30 pm. Limited onsite parking is available for $5. (Fireworks rain date is July 5.)

Schedule of Events:

Main Stage
4 to 6 p.m.    The symphonic musicians of the Hampton Roads Metro Band will kick off the Independence Day celebration with a variety of patriotic tunes.
6 to 9:30 p.m.  Rockin’ country band Buckshot will take the stage and get everyone up on their feet!

 

Activities
4 to 8 p.m.    Free children’s activities and games will be available provided by Awaken Church.

 

Fireworks
9:30 p.m.      Pyrotecnico will amaze the crowd with their spectacular fireworks show.

 

Delicious Foods Available for Purchase
Sink your teeth into some of America’s favorites, including hot dogs, hamburgers, BBQ sandwiches, pizza, Italian sausages, turkey legs and more! Sodas, bottled water, lemonade, ice cream, smoothies, funnel cakes and sno-cones will also be available.

 

Road Closure   
When parking lots at Mount Trashmore Park are full, Edwin Drive between Independence Boulevard and South Boulevard may close. Expect delays.
