Head River Rd. in Virginia Beach Scheduled for Temporary Road Closure UPDATE

Friday, April 03, 2015

UPDATE: Additional Work Needs to be done on Head River Road, so the detour will need to remain in place - except for Sunday, April 5 - until Saturday, April 11, 2015, at 8:00 a.m.  It was previously scheduled to be lifted on Saturday, April 4 at 8:00 a.m.

Beginning Saturday, March 28, 2015, Head River Road between Cedarville Road and Blackwater Road in Virginia Beach will be temporarily closed so that crews can replace drainage culverts that cross Head River Road.

In order to install the pipe safely, this section of road will be temporarily closed to through traffic.  The new pipes will improve storm drainage flow in the area.

The road closure will commence at 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, and will be in place until Saturday, April 4, at 8 a.m.  Advanced warning signs have been posted advising motorists of the alternate routes.   A map with the detour routes is attached.

All work is weather permitting.  Gaston Brothers Utilities is the contractor for the job.
