Sandbridge Road Closed at 7 p.m.

Police will close Sandbridge Road to all eastbound traffic at 7 p.m.  No one will be allowed to enter the Sandbridge community because of dangerous conditions on the road and in the neighborhood. Westbound vehicles, however, will be allowed to leave the community. Anyone who leaves will not be allowed to return.

 

Previously, the city ordered a mandatory evacuation of Sandbridge by noon today. Earlier today, a tornado caused significant damage to four houses in the neighborhood.

 

The city will announce when the road is re-opened.
