Public Utilities Temporarily Shutting Down Portions of Sandbridge Vacuum Sewer System

Irene #042 – 3:30 p.m.

Saturday, August 27, 2011

The Virginia Beach Public Utilities Department has temporarily shut down portions of the Sandbridge vacuum sewer system.  The shutdown is intended to minimize potential damage to the system that could be caused by over-wash along Sandfiddler Road.  The area affected is between the 2500 block of Sandfiddler Road to White Cap Lane.   Only the homes along Sandfiddler Road will be temporarily out of service.

At this time, the city expects for sanitary sewer service to be restored at approximately 6 a.m. on Sunday.
