Playgrounds at City View Park to close for renovation

Friday, November 07, 2014

(Virginia Beach, VA) – The playgrounds at City View Park located at 2073 Kempsville Road, will be undergoing renovations for improvement beginning Monday, November 10, 2014. Weather permitting, the larger playground at City View near Shelter #2 at the north end of the park will be the first to close and reopen in early December. At that time, the smaller playground by the ball fields then will undergo renovation and reopen towards the end of December.

The improvements to the playgrounds at City View Park include innovative play components and compliance with ADA Design Standards for public accessibility. Located near Centerville Turnpike where the Virginia Beach city border meets Chesapeake, City View Park expands across 43 acres and features four lighted diamond fields and a single multi-purpose field available for large athletic events. As a valuable resource, City View Park offers the opportunity for active outdoor recreational uses, including hiking and biking on multi-use trails throughout the park, in order to meet Virginia Beach citizens’ pursuit of a healthy lifestyle.
