Sandler Center Art Gallery hosts The Artists Gallery “Silver Anniversary Gala Exhibition”

​VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — The Sandler Center for the Performing Arts is proud to announce that it will host The Artists Gallery “Silver Anniversary Gala Exhibition.” This exhibition is a celebration of the history, collaboration, talent of the artists and members of The Artists Gallery over the last 25 years.

The Artists Gallery, founded in 1989, is a cooperative of artists who seek to increase cultural awareness in Virginia Beach by connecting art with the interests and needs of our community through exhibitions, education and outreach. The Artists Gallery has launched the careers of a plethora of artists who successfully practice throughout the region. The Artists Gallery “Silver Anniversary Gala Exhibition” will be on view in the second and third floor lobbies from Nov. 4 through Jan. 24, 2015 during the Sandler Center’s normal operating hours: Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; or during any performance at the Sandler Center. There will be a free opening reception held at the Sandler Center on Nov. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. The reception is made possible in part by a generous gift from Tom and Juanita Felton to the Sandler Center Foundation.


ABOUT THE CITY OF VIRGINIA BEACH’S OFFICE OF CULTURAL AFFAIRS:

The role of the Office of Cultural Affairs is to develop the vision and direction of the cultural arts in Virginia Beach, assist and direct the Virginia Beach Arts and Humanities Commission, coordinate the city’s Public Art Program, provide contract management for the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, provide administrative leadership to the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts’ 501(c) 3 Foundation and serve as staff liaison to local arts and humanities organizations.
