Wednesday, October 22, 2014

Virginia Beach’s Bayside Area Library is hosting a Block Party on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stop by on the way to or from casting your vote and bring the kids for lunch and treats available for purchase from local food trucks, Bro’s Fish Tacos and Just Cupcakes. You’ll also find colonial games hosted by local historic houses, a photo booth, plus face-painting and children’s activities presented by the library’s teen volunteers, all for free. There will also be an onsite demonstration of 3-D printing and a variety of electronic gadgets on display.

“The library provides free access to information for all people, so it’s the perfect place to celebrate democracy on Election Day,” said Susan Paddock, manager at Bayside Area Library. “We encourage residents to come celebrate the community, meet their neighbors and local businesses, and enjoy all that the library has to offer.”

The event is free and open to the public. For information, call 385-2680.
