Celebrate America Recycles Day at the Joint-Use Library in Virginia Beach on Thursday, Nov. 13

Monday, October 20, 2014

The City of Virginia Beach Recycle Team will celebrate America Recycles Day with students and residents at the new TCC/City Joint-Use Library on Thursday, Nov. 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Event attendees will learn more about the newly rebranded Virginia Beach Landfill and Resource Recovery Center, and recycling opportunities like taking household batteries to the library and other sustainable living practices. All are welcome at this educational event.

Tidewater Community College’s Student Activities will have refreshments and a fun photo booth to welcome students to the event. The Joint-Use Library is located on Michael Labouve Drive off of South Rosemont Road.

America Recycles Day supports the local, regional and national efforts to educate citizens on the benefits of recycling. The celebration continues the efforts to promote proper recycling practices to Virginia Beach residents. Recycling minimizes waste, saves natural resources, promotes environmental sustainability, and saves money.
