2014 Coastal Edge SK8R Bash drops in at Williams Farm Skate Park

Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation presents the 2014 Coastal Edge SK8R Bash at Virginia Beach’s newest skate facility: Williams Farm Skate Park (5269 Learning Circle). Held on Saturday, October 18, 2014, from 9 am – 6 pm, this annual event includes an amateur skateboard competition with prizes for the top three category winners, plus activities that are all things skate-related! (Rain date: Sunday, October 19, same time and location.)

 

Competition categories include beginner, intermediate and advanced heats in flow, street and bowl. Beginner competition is restricted to youth age 14 and under; intermediate and advanced levels are open to all ages. Registration begins at 8 am; day-of registration for competitors costs $30.

 

Williams Farm Skate Park is a 25,000 square foot, concrete skate park that features a tiered bowl, flow park and urban skate plaza. The skate park at Williams Farm is one of three municipal skate parks built to provide access to alternative sports that contribute to Virginia Beach residents’ pursuit of a healthy lifestyle.

 

The 2014 Coastal Edge SK8R Bash presented by Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation is free and open to the public, beginning at 9 am and ending at 6 pm on Saturday, October 18 (rain date: Sunday, October 19).
