Virginia Beach’s Oceanfront Area Library is hosting a fun-filled
day of activities on Saturday, Oct. 4, 10 years to the day the library opened
at 700 Virginia Beach Blvd. Virginia Beach Public Library Director Eva Poole
will launch the festivities, followed by a variety of family programs and activities.
Performances include magic with John Kingry at 11 a.m., balloon creations with
Ryan the Balloon Guy from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., and a variety of other activities
from noon until 5 p.m. Attendees will have the chance to learn more about local
history and Oceanfront Area Library, which opened in 1979 at its former Arctic
Avenue location.
The anniversary celebration is funded by a grant from the
Friends of the Virginia Beach Public Library and is free and open to the public.
