New Skate Park Operating Hours Take Effect Monday, October 6, 2014

(Virginia Beach, VA) – Effective Monday, October 6, 2014, the operating hours at Mount Trashmore Skate Park and Vert Ramp, and Woodstock Skate Plaza will change. Hours at the lighted Williams Farm Skate Park will remain unaffected and will continue to operate year-round Monday - Sunday from 8:00 am - 9:00 pm.


The skate park operating hours at Mount Trashmore Park and Woodstock Park from the day after Labor Day until June 15 will be Monday - Friday from 2:00 pm until 30 minutes prior to park closing time and weekends from 10:00 am until 30 minutes prior to park closing time. Exceptions to this timetable include Virginia Beach City Public Schools Spring Break and Winter Break schedules during which the hours will be Monday - Sunday from 10:00 am until 30 minutes prior to park closing time.


Summer skate park hours at Mount Trashmore and Woodstock Parks begin June 16 through Labor Day, and will be Monday - Sunday from 10:00 am until 30 minutes prior to park closing time.


All skate facilities are free and open to all ages, with a skate park pass.

Framed with treated wood and completely covered with composite material, Mount Trashmore Skate Park (310 Edwin Drive) is a 24,000 square foot extensive street course flowing from an aboveground, seven-foot deep bowl. A competition-sized vert ramp adjacently stands at a massive 13.5 feet tall and 40 feet wide.  With over 10,400 square feet of concrete skateable area, Woodstock Park Skate Plaza (5709 Providence Road) boasts several challenging components, including a five-foot tall quarter pipe, vert wall, rails, hubba ledges, radial ledges, stairs and handrails to provide endless skating action. Williams Farm Skate Park (5269 Learning Circle) is a 25,000 square foot, concrete skate park that features a tiered bowl, flow park and urban skate plaza. LED lighting allows access from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm daily.
