Virginia Beach Health Department to Host FREE Flu Vaccination Clinic on Saturday, October 18, 2014

The Virginia Beach Department of Public Health (VBDPH) will host a FREE flu vaccination clinic at the Newtown Elementary School, 5277 Learning Circle, on Saturday, October 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Virginia Beach Department of Public Health nurses and volunteer Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) nurses will administer seasonal flu vaccines free of charge to the following: 

Flu Vaccine:

 

·         Adults and children – Ages 3 years and older

·         Children  (ages 3-8) should bring copy of immunization record if available

·         1,100 doses available - Vaccine supply is limited. Individuals will receive vaccine on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends that individuals receive flu vaccinations because the virus spreads quickly, especially, in school and child care settings and often affects young, healthy adults.

Individuals with questions pertaining to the vaccination clinics can call the VBDPH at 518-2700 weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
