The Voter Registrar’s Office is looking for citizens to
staff nearby Virginia Beach polling places on Nov. 4, Election Day. We are inviting you to help us in assisting
your family, friends and neighbors in having a satisfying experience when
voting.
An Officer of Election assists citizens and facilitates a
successful voting experience with duties, which may include check-in of
registered voters, assisting with paperwork, tallying results, and other
general customer service duties.
Officers of Election receive training to help prepare for their assigned
duties and are asked to follow the Virginia Election guidelines and standards.
The compensation for attending training and working the full
day is $135.00.
- You must be qualified to vote in Virginia to be an officer
of election.
- Attend training class.
- Arrive at the polling place at 5 a.m. and remain there until
election results have been reported (generally around 8 or 9 p.m.).
- Be courteous and people-friendly to our voters.
- Wear appropriate dress (no blue jeans, workout clothes,
t-shirts, shorts, or any political paraphernalia).
