VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.  July 1, 2014 — Virginia Beach offers two fun ways to celebrate America’s independence at the resort oceanfront and at Mount Trashmore Park, but attendees should be aware of parking rules and restrictions.

Two Ways to Celebrate:

Residents and visitors are also encouraged to celebrate Independence Day at Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation’s Annual July 4th Celebration at Mount Trashmore Park. This event is free and open to the public Friday, July 4 from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m. (Fireworks rain date is July 5.)

Mount Trashmore:

For those choosing to head to Mount Trashmore, limited on-site parking is available for $5.

Individuals who violate this restriction are subject to a $70 fine and possibly towing.

The 25th Street lot is currently closed for construction of a new parking garage. The new garage is expected to open Fall of 2014. Municipal parking is still available at:
