Free Parking Garages Are Now Open at Oceanfront and Town Center

In anticipation of Hurricane Irene, the city parking garages at the Oceanfront and Town Center are now open to anyone who wants to keep their vehicles on higher ground. There will be no charge. 

  • The 9th Street garage is open to vehicles and small campers (not to exceed 7 feet).
  • The 31st Street garage is open to vehicles only (no campers).
  • Vehicles may remain in the garages through Monday at no charge.
  • The city is not responsible for any damage to vehicles while parked in city garages.

For the most up-to-date information regarding Hurricane Irene citizens are urged to stay tuned to local television and radio stations as well as the outlets listed below:

  • City’s VBTV Channels: Cox Cable 46, 47 & 48 and Verizon Cable 45, 46 & 47 will display emergency information including our City operational status and facilities closure notices
