Do you have a voice that needs to be heard? Are you a dancer with a gift to share? A rapper with a unique message? Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation is looking for middle and high school performing artists, ages 10 - 18, for the 2014 Wil.Fa Talent Search!

Three-minute auditions will be conducted 10 a.m., Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Williams Farm Recreation Center. All forms of performing arts are welcome, including singing, dancing, rapping, spoken words and monologues, acting, or music.

Kwame James, a reality-celebrity, aspiring producer and one of the heroes who subdued the infamous shoe bomber, will be a judge for the 2014 Wil.Fa Talent Search. Carol Jones, a performing arts instructor with the Urban Theater Company, a personality from Z104, and staff from Williams Farm Recreation Center will round out the judging panel.

The top 10 performers from the audition will compete in the Talent Showcase at the Celebrating Children at 11 a.m.., Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Mount Trashmore Park. The winning artist will receive two pit tickets to Z104’s ShaggFest, courtesy of Team VA, a youth pole vault and track and field club.

The Williams Farm Recreation Center’s media center is available for teens to mix music, record tracks, and practice with others before the audition and before the Talent Showcase.
