Monday, April 14, 2014

An earlier version of this release had incorrect information pertaining to the purpose of this meeting and the availability of documents from the Planning Department. With apology, we request that you substitute that release with this one. There are no documents available.

The Virginia Beach Planning Commission will hold a workshop meeting on Monday, April 21 from 5 to 7 p.m., in the City Manager’s Conference Room (City Manager’s Office, 2nd Floor, Building 1, City Hall, 2401 Courthouse Drive). The Planning Commission will receive and discuss recommendations pertaining to the Transition Area of Virginia Beach that have been prepared by the City Council-appointed Transition Area-Interfacility Traffic Area Citizen’s Advisory Committee.

The public is invited to attend this meeting, but may not speak, as this meeting is not a public hearing.

The Virginia Beach Planning Commission reviews applications submitted for changes to zoning districts, conditional use permits, street closures, proposal for amendments to the Zoning Ordinance and Comprehensive Plan, and related land use and zoning matters. The Commission makes a recommendation on these items to City Council, who then makes the final determination on the recommended items during one of their regular meetings.
