Celebrate America Recycles Day with the City’s Recycle Team at the New Joint-Use Library

Monday, October 21, 2013

The Virginia Beach Recycle Team will welcome students and residents at the new TCC/City Joint-Use Library from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 12 to celebrate America Recycles Day. They will continue to spread their message to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle to a new demographic — college students.

America Recycles Day supports the local, regional and national efforts to educate citizens on the benefits of recycling as well as continue the efforts to promote proper recycling practices to Virginia Beach residents. Some of the benefits of recycling include minimizing waste, saving natural resources, promoting environmental sustainability, recognizing the value of products and saving money.

For this event, students and the public as a whole will receive valuable literature and have the opportunity to speak face-to-face with recycling specialists who can answer their questions and provide useful and fun recycling facts. Tidewater Community College’s Student Activities will have food and prizes to welcome students to the event. The Joint-Use Library is located on Michael Labouve Drive off of South Rosemont Road.
