Public Meeting on Stormwater Management Program and Floodplain Ordinance Set for Sept. 26

Interested community members are invited to participate in a public outreach meeting on Thursday, Sept. 26, at from 3 to 5 p.m. and again from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Advanced Technology Center Theater, 1800 College Crescent.  The same information will be presented at both sessions.


The meeting agenda will include the following:


·         The Floodplain Ordinance is being changed to meet the most recent FEMA requirements. An overview of the changes will be presented by city staff.


·         Stormwater Management Program changes, including a revised ordinance and technical design criteria, are required by state law.


·         Representatives from Kimley-Horn and Associates, an engineering consultant for the city, will present an overview of the new state requirements and how program changes will affect development in the city.  


·         After the two presentations, staff from Kimley-Horn and the departments of Planning, Public Works and Public Utilities will answer questions and receive comments from participants.


Comment and question forms will be available for submission to the Planning Department. Comments must be received by Oct. 25.
