Minority Business Council Elects New Officers

The Virginia Beach Minority Business Council, an agency that advises city leaders on procurement policies and procedures, has elected a new slate of officers for the 2013-14 year. The new officers are:

·         Carla Bailey, chairperson

·         Sheila Johnson, vice chairperson

·         Linda Bright, secretarial officer

·         Amma Guerrier, financial counselor

 

The officers were sworn in at the council’s recent retreat. New members appointed by the City Council for two-year terms are Kelvin Arthur, Harshad Barot and Michael Lancaster.

 

The Minority Business Council meets on the second Friday of each month from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in Town Center at the Economic Development Department office, 222 Central Park Ave., 10th floor, Suite 1000, in the Armada Hoffler tower. The next meeting will be Aug. 9. The public is invited to attend.
