A Free Self-Defense Workshop

​Don’t become a crime statistic!  Attend “The Best Defense,” a free self-defense workshop brought to you by the Virginia Beach Police Department and Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation.  This is a great class for those heading off to college next fall!  Participants will increase awareness of the environment, learn about crime prevention, obtain personal safety tips, and learn how to escape from potentially dangerous situations.  Geared for those ages 12 & up, this self-defense workshop features simple skills that participants will practice under the supervision of Virginia Beach Police Department instructors.

 

Cost:  Free workshop, Recreation Center membership card is not required.

Where:  Princess Anne Recreation Center, Virginia Beach.

When:  Saturday, April 27, 2013, from 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Registration:  Will be accepted until April 22, 2013.  Register by calling any Virginia Beach Recreation Center as soon as possible as this workshop tends to fill quickly.  Recreation Center members can register online at http://ezreg.vbgov.com  for class # 112773.

 

All participants should wear loose, comfortable clothing and no jewelry.  Those under age 16 must participate with a parent or guardian.  Please arrive ten minutes early to sign in.
