Boil Water Notice Lifted Following Laskin Road Water Main Break

Wednesday, March 27, 2013

As of 5:30 a.m. this morning, the Virginia Beach Department of Public Utilities lifted the “boil water” notice issued Monday following a water main break on Laskin Road.  The notice was lifted after water sampling over a 48-hour period revealed there were no bacteriological contaminants present, and that the water is in full compliance with all state and federal standards for safe drinking water.  The public water supply in the affected area is now safe to drink and use for all other consumptive purposes. Residences and businesses specifically affected by the notice included those north of 24th Street, east of Birdneck Road, and south of Fort Story.

The Department would like to thank the affected residents and businesses for their patience, and apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the break.
