“Works by Betty Hadfield” on Display at the Sandler Center Art Gallery

Thursday, November 08, 2012

Betty Hadfield’s works on oil are the latest artwork to be featured in the Sandler Center Art Gallery and can be viewed from now through Jan. 18.  Hadfield works in oils with a limited palette and enjoys using bold and unexpected color to capture the mood and integrity of her subject. The opening reception will take place Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
As a student at Longwood University, Hadfield became thrilled at the prospect of majoring in art, a love she had from early childhood. She received her degree in art education, raised a family while continuing to build her skill and reputation as a serious artist. Her art has been on display at various Hampton Roads indoor art shows and several galleries. Her work is now primarily featured at The Gallery at East Beach in Norfolk’s Ocean View. Her work has sold nationally to collectors in Texas, California, Colorado, Illinois, Florida and Massachusetts, as well as in Virginia and North Carolina.
Come see Hadfield’s breathtaking landscapes and floral still life at the Sandler Center Art Gallery through Jan. 18. The gallery is free and open to the public Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., or during any performance at the Sandler Center.
