Envision Virginia Beach 2040 Committee Seeks Civic-Minded Volunteers for Vision to Action Coalition

Thursday, August 30, 2012

Now that Envision Virginia Beach 2040 has completed its comprehensive report to the City Council, the committee is working to ensure that its momentum carries over into tangible action.

To make that happen, the committee is forming a Vision to Action Coalition that will educate citizens about the vision’s details and will monitor and report on the city’s progress toward achieving the vision.

Envision Virginia Beach 2040 is searching civic-minded volunteers who support the committee’s vision to join the coalition. Anyone interested in joining the coalition should submit an interest form and attend an orientation meeting on Friday, Sept. 14, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Strategic Growth Area Office, located on the 10th floor of the Armada Hoffler building at Virginia Beach Town Center, 222 Central Park Ave., Suite 1050.

Coalition members are expected to read and understand the report, attend a two-hour monthly meeting, join a subcommittee that focuses on each of the bold steps outlined in the report and then provide an annual status update to the City Council.
