Rose Hall and Rural Communities to Help Shape Sustainability Plan

Tuesday, November 22, 2011

The City of Virginia Beach invites all residents, business owners, community leaders and other stakeholders who have an interest in how the city plans, manages, protects and promotes its current and future sustainability initiatives to participate in one of eight public input meetings. The last two are scheduled for Monday, Nov. 28, 7 to 9 p.m. at Green Run High School, 1700 Dahlia Drive and Thursday, Dec. 1, 7 to 9 p.m. at Creeds Elementary School, 920 Princess Anne Road.

The community will learn and share its views on what sustainability is, the need to develop such a plan, the environmental, economic and social benefits that result from sustainable communities, and the importance of the public’s input in the developing the city’s first Sustainability Plan.

These meetings are the first step in an ongoing process to seek input and direction from the public to guide the city in the development of its first comprehensive Sustainability Plan.
